You Simply Can't Trust the Philadelphia Trumpet

Readers of The Philadelphia Trumpet should be mindful that it IS not any type of neutral media. By far the opposite...

In their latest October issue, there is a lead article entitled Why America Really Failed. There is something quite interesting in the first two paragraphs of that article, which I will let you read before we continue this short analysis.

Regular readers of this blog will quickly identify what isn't being said here.

First of all, the decision to withdraw was a CONTINUATION of the Trump-decision to withdraw from the country. Joel Hilliker won't include that, because the PCG would never say anything that goes against the Republican party - and certainly never anything that goes against their political idol, Donald Trump.

There can be no doubt the exit from Afghanistan was shameful. I wrote about that on my political blog in the article entitled Leaving Afghanistan WITHOUT Proper Training. That part is correct, but the analysis of the political agenda is superficial at best in the article in The Trumpet...

Trump Declared Friendship With Taliban!

The worst part, also overlooked in these paragraphs is the fact that it was TRUMP who declared friendship with Taliban. He thought they were great people when he declared that America would leave at the end of August 2021.

It would have been the right thing to do for a new President to declare his disagreement with that strategy, as leaving too soon would leave the Afghan people at the mercy of detrimental forces now ruling the country. But making the right decisions isn't always easy - it can cost you re-election in 2024 once you try to instruct geographical analphabets about geopolitical issues!

It is the big spot on Joe Biden under a year into his presidency. No doubt about that, and I was so shocked when he didn't at least spend the first half a year into office rethinking a viable strategy for a long-term exit that would further a democratic foundation.

BUT the goals of the recruitment magazine isn't to deliver a sharp analysis on neutral ground. The goal of the PCG is to maintain a stronghold on the mindset of their membership, and The Trumpet could never challenge powers that be without being ready to give both praise and scolding where each belongs.

That, dear readers, is the reason why you simply can't trust The Trumpet as any source of world news. It is colored by a mindset that has pre-defined that Trump belongs in The White House. A thought that is terrible for any normal thinking person...
